Itinerary
It will begin with an early morning pick-up from the hotel or residence in Kigali, where you will meet a professional guide who will welcome you on board and brief you before the scenic northwest drive to Musanze-the gate to Volcanoes National Park. You shall get great shots of Rwanda's rolling hills, lush valleys, and vibrant rural life as you meander through the countryside.
Arrive at Musanze and check in at the luxury Amikus Hotel. Have some relaxation time and enjoy the facilities of the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. This is a state-of-the-art facility; more than a research facility, it is a living museum committed to mountain gorillas' conservation. Come and have a look into the prolific life of Dian Fossey, go through interactive exhibits, and learn about all the survival efforts still carried on in trying to take care of these gentle giants. After a well-spent time, drive back to the hotel, where you shall have all evening at leisure; dinner will be a very delightful affair.
Overnight: Amikus Hotel (Meal Plan: Bed and breakfast).
Break your fast early, then proceed to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi. The park formalities are done here, and after, you will be allocated to a group headed by an experienced park ranger for your adventure on gorilla trekking.
Trekking through dense rainforest at times can be grueling, but the reward is a lifetime experience with a family of mountain gorillas. Be amazed by spending an hour observing such wonderful animals in their natural habitat; observe how they play, groom, and interact with each other.
After this lifetime experience, you will be taken back to the lodge to embark on a journey to Kigali. Depending on your schedule, you may have time for some last-minute souvenir shopping around the vibrant markets of Kigali. Lastly, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your ongoing flight, marking the end of a great Rwandan adventure. The end of the tour and our services.
