Terms & Conditions
Booking and Payment: All bookings for tours and flights need to be confirmed in writing/email/website and must include the corresponding deposit. Payment deadlines for the entire cost will be indicated on each itinerary. Opportune Safaris also reserves the right to cancel a reservation in case of delayed payment.
Prices: Prices are in [USD or local currency] and cover the services detailed in the itinerary. Prices may change due to fuel charges, exchange rate fluctuations, or government levies. These changes will be notified prior to the final payment.
Cancellation Policy: In case the client cancels, refunds made (if any) will be subject to cancellation date and pre-paid obligations. Generally: deposits are non-refundable; cancellation >30 days prior to departure costs relatively little; cancellations 30–15 days prior to departure cost a 50% fee;
Cancellations made within 15 days are 100% non-refundable. (Specific terms should be stated on booking confirmation.) Flight cancellations follow the airlines’ policies.
Travel Documents and Visas: It is the responsibility of the traveler to acquire valid passports, visas, and necessary health certificates (yellow fever vaccination for example) for each destination on the schedule. Opportune Safaris may provide information on requirements but will not accept the responsibility for denied entry or incomplete documentation.
Health and Safety: Safari travel carries risks. Clients must indicate any medical conditions. Opportune Safaris ensures experienced guide assistance, comfortable transportation, and good-quality accommodations. Nonetheless, travellers accept risks of wildlife and travel in remote areas. Travel insurance that includes medical evacuation, trip cancellation, as well as baggage loss or theft, is highly recommended.
Liabilities: Opportune Safaris operates as agents for airlines, hotels, lodges, and other service providers. We accept no responsibility for accidents, delay, injury, or loss due to the acts or omissions of these providers. Our responsibility for arranging the services as outlined holds.
Force Majeure: Opportune Safaris is not accountable for any loss or harm due to reasons unforeseen or outside our control (force majeure), for example, natural disasters, war, strikes or government restrictions. In these circumstances, we will use reasonable endeavors to provide alternatives but cannot assure availability or cost.
Local Laws: Travelers should abide by all the local legislation of the visited countries. The costs associated with fines or penalties for violations of local legislation (for example, for illegal wildlife trophies, traffic infractions, or immigration violations) are the traveler’s sole responsibility.
Special Requests: Any mobility limitations or dietary restrictions as well as special requests (e.g. room bedding preference) must be notified in writing when booking. These will be attempted to be provided but cannot be ensured without prior confirmation.
Photos and Media: Opportune Safaris might photograph or video tour activities. By booking, clients also agree to having their photos taken for use in promotional purposes, subject to receiving a prior written objection.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda where Opportune Safaris is registered. Any disputes not amicably settled will be subject to arbitration under Rwanda Laws.
