Itinerary

Your morning kicks off with a pickup in Kigali, after which you enjoy a briefing of the day's events from your skilled driver-guide. The drive to Akagera National Park takes about 2.5 hours and passes through beautiful Rwanda rolling hills and picturesque landscapes. You will enjoy scenic stopovers along the way for photography and refreshments, making the journey quite exciting, like the destination itself. Upon arrival at the park, you check in to your luxury accommodation at the Akagera Game Lodge for rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a fascinating sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema. As the sun sets below the horizon line, expect to see hippos and crocodiles among several other bird species inhabiting the shores of the lake.

This would be a very peaceful experience and a perfect prelude to an evening of rest at the lodge for dinner under the stars.

Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge (Meal Plan: Full board).

Start the day with an early and big breakfast in preparation for a full-day game drive. Akagera National Park is highly recognized in terms of biodiversity. One of the most rewarding safari experiences in East Africa can be conducted in Akagera, passing various landscapes from open savannah to dense woodland. With expert guidance, you will see the big five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards aside from other wildlife such as zebras and giraffes and lots of antelope species. The avifauna population in the park is over 500 species that any bird enthusiast will marvel at since it is a haven for birding. Lunch will be parked and given to you so that you can picnic in the wild while enjoying the scenic views of the park.

On your final day of adventure, drive back to Kigali, where our driver will deliver you safely to your hotel, residence, or airport with countless memories of a truly unforgettable safari.
